TRUCK DRIVERS NEED TO FIGHT BACK AGAINST THE TRUCKING COMPANIES AND THE TRUCKING SCAMS!

About the Author

OTR trucking information by professional OTR driver, Aubrey Allen Smith, 49, who started driving 26' moving trucks in 1977, moving to the big rigs in 1986. Growing up in the moving industry, not only did he drive the rigs, but he also had to deal with the physical aspect that comes with the household goods industry. Finally, in 1994 he left the moving industry and switched over to freight hauling. Then, once again, Allen, along with his wife Donna, opened and operated a successful moving business from 2000 to 2004, until they sold it. The business is still operating today, under the same name.

Dear Trucking Brothers and Sisters,

If you have your sights set on a career in trucking...or are already trying to make a living driving a rig...then this could be one of the most important web pages you ever read.

I am a 29 year veteran of the Trucking Industry. My parents owned a moving company, so I was exposed at an early age to trucks, trucking, and the smell of diesel. Of course I explored college and other careers, but it wasn't too long that I decided to give trucking another try. I guess I got caught up with the same hype and enticement as so many new drivers do today. The thoughts of “the open road”, “seeing new places”, “no boss hanging around”, “drive all the miles you can and earn all the money you want”. Truck driving seemed to have all I was looking for.

I got caught up in it all, believing every company that promised the moon and stars. With every new company, I didn't give up hope. After all, “They seemed so honest and trustworthy, especially the recruiters”. Well, after a few years of the same old thing, I eventually was able to find a great company. It was at this point in time, I knew what to look for. I realized that there were a “few” good ones out there, but not many.

As I was out on the road, I would hear the stories by the other truck drivers. I had forgotten the heartache and disappointments, but hearing them was enough to bring back some pretty bitter memories. Now though, I realized there were even newer scams than when I was driving. Now there are THE TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL SCAMS: students, paying thousands to get their CDL and being told all kinds of promises. I thought, “Okay, enough is enough". Now, after they get ripped off by the schools, they are then pulled into the Trucking Company Scam. With my experience behind me, I realized nobody was doing anything to help the “new” drivers avoid these scams!

Thus, “The Truth About Trucking“ was born. I wanted everyone, whether a professional driver or those thinking about getting into trucking, to have this information. To know what to look out for, to know which Schools to Avoid, to realize that Spending Thousands for CDL training is a big RIP OFF. To realize the Leasing Scams that literally send drivers bankrupt...and every other thing I had learned through the years. I wanted them ALL to KNOW the TRUTH. Marketing skills limited and time not on my side, not many were sold. Many times I would just give the info away to anyone who wanted it.

But then, my wife Donna and I started an extremely successful moving company in Florida. I vowed at that point to treat our drivers with the utmost respect and to pay them THE WAGES THEY DESERVED. Most were quite surprised at their pay, as they were used to being tricked or taken advantage of. Needless to say, we had happy employees.

It wasn’t until we sold our business (which is still operating to this day), that I had more time to devote to marketing this very needed book. Today, we have reached thousands of people with the availability of “The Truth About Trucking.” The biggest satisfaction is the letters and replies...the sincere gratitude for the information is a joy I can not even describe.

ONE OF A&D's moving trucks during their years as owners.
